Your 2 days desert tour from Marrakech will start with an early morning pick-up from your hotel or riad in Marrakech. You will drive through the High Atlas Mountains, passing through the Tizi n'Tichka Pass, which is the highest mountain pass in North Africa. This scenic drive will offer you stunning views of the mountain range and the Berber villages nestled within the valleys.
Your first stop will be the UNESCO World Heritage site of Ait Benhaddou, an impressive fortified city that has been used as a backdrop for many Hollywood movies. You will have time to explore the city and learn about its fascinating history before continuing to Ouarzazate, also known as the “Hollywood of Morocco”, for a lunch break.
In the afternoon, you will drive through the Draa Valley, passing through several small Berber villages before reaching the desert town of Merzouga. From there, you will hop on your camels and ride into the heart of the Sahara Desert to your desert camp, where you will spend the night under the stars.
Wake up early in the morning to catch the stunning sunrise over the sand dunes of the Sahara Desert. Enjoy a delicious breakfast at the desert camp before heading back to Merzouga on camelback.
After returning to Merzouga, you will begin your journey back to Marrakech, stopping for lunch in the village of Tazzarine. In the afternoon, you will pass through the stunning Draa Valley, where you can admire the breathtaking landscapes and the traditional Berber villages. You may have the opportunity to stop in one of the villages and meet with the locals to learn about their way of life and culture.
You will arrive in Marrakech in the early evening, where your tour will come to an end.
